Brian crabtree is preoccupied with minimalism and sustainability. based in upstate new york, he designs adaptable hardware interfaces used by musicians, artists, and designers worldwide. in 2006 with kelli cain he founded monome, pioneering the grid-based performance instrument and exploring new composition systems. his work has shown at the museum of modern art in new york, the los angeles county museum of art, and machine project in los angeles. time writing music is shared with an apple orchard, a handful of nubian goats, and imaginary cabins. kelli wins at ping pong, but just barely.
